Avenger: End Game review

Compelling. It best describes the final chapter which culminates in one of the 21 iconic films from Marvel Cinematic Universe. And it also explains, for the last time, the joy of seeing your favorite superheroes come together for a special purpose.Directors Anthony and Joe Russo ensure they will not get the best of the humongous build-up and the tsunami of expectations. They provide a relatively safe product, full of moments filled with action, emotion, humor and drama. Also if you haven't been watching the show, the authors Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely take you along. In the script they do an excellent job of combining feelings in visual spectacles. And if you're not a fan yet, chances are, after watching this instalment, you might become one.The action is slowly becoming intense but never overbearing. It remains, in fact, important and true to the story, and it weaves in ample opportunities for big plot twists that even the diehard fans may not see coming. Also in 2D, the extensive CGI work contributes to the visual appeal.

The insightful tone of the film might often come across as a pace breaker for the non-fans, but for the fans, the same invokes hope and anticipation, leading to frequent gasps and howls.Overall, 'Avengers: Endgame' is a fitting homage to the Fictional Universe, which has spawned superheroes and super fans of greater than life. 'Endgame' delivers on all of its signature promises at three hours plus, leaving its fans with a variety of emotions and fond memories.

JOKER Movie Review

JOKER review: Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix) doesn't feel good with his future. As part-time clown he tries to make money while sharing a rundown apartment with his ailing mom (Frances Conroy). But Arthur lives in a town that is hit by tough times, where good, honest life is hard to get through. He also suffers from a condition in which he bursts into uncontrollable laughter.None of these will discourage Arthur from dreaming high. He aspires to be a stand-up comic, and attempts in his diary to write jokes. Caught in between, Arthur starts gradually losing his hold on reality.

It's instantly clear this isn't your typical comic book fare. Todd Phillips is desperately building a man's tale at the edge of his wit while forced to his point of break. Phillips does not glorify mental illness but instead makes a convincing case of an adult who is profoundly depressed and trying to find a coping mechanism in the form of an unhinged alter ego. This also reflects in his gritty dream of Gotham City, a metropolis that got to its knees, where crime is just a way of life. Even the wealthy and greedy appear to be untouched by the mayhem – a notion important today.Set in the early 80's, this fictional city recalls that period with impeccable production and a time-relevant, yet disturbing soundtrack that evokes a constant sense of uneasiness.

The slow descent into madness of Arthur Fleck has a distant comparison to 'Taxi Driver,' which also features Robert De Niro, and the cinephile has a sense of joy in seeing him here. Yet, in the titular role, none of the cast holds a candle to Joaquin Phoenix captured by a committed, immersive performance.Watching Phoenix vanish into character makes one doubt the health of the performer, as he creates his own special villain image. At first his wiry, clumsy body stumbles to get from place to place, but as he finally transforms, he is graceful and resembles an agile dancer. It's hard to watch at the same time, and yet difficult to take away your eyes from him. If Joaquin Phoenix ends up receiving an Academy Award for this success, it would be difficult to argue against it. Disturbing and painful, but ultimately brilliant, this might very well become the Joker's definitive tale of origin.

Ford vs Ferrari movie Review

Ford v. Ferrari Story: Based on a true story, two ambitious men – American car designer Carroll Shelby (Matt Damon) and British-born driver Ken Miles (Christian Bale), take on the race cars of Ferrari by building their own.

Ford v. Ferrari Review: In 1963 Ford Motor Company struggles with sales as they do not seem to be able to communicate with the younger generation. To raise their credibility, Lee Iacocca (Jon Bernthal) is proposing a daring marketing plan – winning one of the world's most prestigious car races-Le Mans 24 Hours. That poses a particular challenge; the sport has been dominated by the Ferrari racing team for four consecutive years, and Ford has no race car to beat them. Caroll Shelby (Matt Damon), a car engineer and builder, is planning what they need to gain the ego boost they wanted. But Shelby knows that without a qualified driver a fine tuned car is useless. Meet the feisty but intimidating Ken Miles (Christian Bale), whose volatile personality just fits his behind - the-wheel skills.

Although the plot is constructed between two companies on the automotive war, the director James Mangold narrows it down to two people who were the natural driving forces. Both Caroll Shelby and Ken Miles were strong personalities; this is recognized by Matt Damon and Christian Bale, and used to fuel the tension between their characters.Christian Bale is again playing Miles with his magic-a unpredictable underdog that Ford doesn't want on their side. Miles is at the heart of the film, and to watch Bale is fascinating. Matt Damon is much more complex than Caroll Shelby, while he gets enough 'huge moments' and gets the most. The combination is exhilarating; you can’t help rooting for the two when they’re on screen, even when there are no cars involved.

James Mangold, speaking of this, guides the racing sequences not only to express the frenetic tension but also to continue the character arcs. The supporting cast contributes to the proceedings alongside
Jon Bernthal is strong, Caitriona Balfe is the same as Mollie Miles, but the relationship between Miles and his son Peter, played by Noah Jupe, is also warming. This drives the throttle on the script, keeping it exciting and, shockingly funny enough to make sure in two and a half hours there is no dull moment. 'Ford v Ferrari' loves motorheads and racing enthusiasts, but even the average moviegoer gets a kick out of it.

Movies and Mental Health

It is the time of lockdown and we all are in our homes getting bored. Apart from working from home and having fun with family watching movies can also be a form of therapy. Escaping from our own problems in life for a short period of time, there are many benefits of watching movies. In fact it has a name -"Cinema Therapy".

"Cinema therapy can act as a powerful catalyst for healing and growth of anybody who is keen to know how movies affect the life of a person and to watching certain movies with conscious awareness."

Cinema therapy is somehow a real thing and is often prescribed by therapists. Being aware of the benefits and good side of  the movies can change the way we think, what we feel and ultimately one can deal with the ups and downs and make watching movies invaluable.
The idea of which movie should be watched should come from the current situations which are going on in the life.
For example- If your love one is struggling through addiction you might watch "Clean and Sober" or
"When a man loves a women".

There are some ways how watching movies that mirror our own struggles and experiences help us-

  • Watching movies uplift emotional release and it is quite helpful even for those who have trouble expressing their feelings and emotions might find themselves laughing or crying during a movie. This release of feelings may have a carthatic effect and it also makes easier for a person to express their emotions.
  • Sometimes watching movies help us makes sense of our own lives. From thousand of years knowledge and experiences have been passed down through the art of story-telling. Stories gives us some different  perspectives and help us understand and make sense of the customs of the world. And movies are stories.
  • Sad movies can also make someone happy. It may be like counter-intutive, i think many of us can relate to this. When we see a sad film, some of us feel thankful to our own life and smaller problems in comparison.
Going out for movies in theatre is not possible everytime due to our schedules or there can  be some other reasons so we sometimes prefer to watch movies at home and the good news is that it doesn't matter whether you are watching movie at home or in a crowded theatre the results are same.

The Pursuit of Happyness Movie Review

The Pursuit of HappynessMovie tells that no matter how hard you get pushed down, you should always get up and keep going.

“I met my father for the first time when I was 28 years old. When I had children, my children were going to know who their father was.” So Chris Gardner, an earnest young salesman and father desperately struggling to make ends meet on the hard streets of San Francisco. But his chosen vocation, peddling expensive bone-density scanners that most physicians don’t want, has left him and those he loves hovering on the edge of disaster.

Linda pulls double shifts to stay within striking distance of solvency, all the while Chris for his failure to accept. Linda’s negative may did not bring earnest salesman love for his son.

Then Linda leaves Chris and their son for a job in New York. Chris gets offered the internship but its unpaid. Despite financial risk, Chris decides to go for it, for better future for his and himself. Juggling internship and sales of bone density scanner the rapid consumption of savings, which led to eviction from their apartment and then from motel. Soon they are homeless, staying at city shelters in nights and in public restrooms, got worse and worse.

As his desperation increased, Chris clings to hope that his hard work will pay off. Pursuit of a better life forges a powerful bond between son and father that no misfortune can destroy.

In this journey through the struggles and trails that single father, Chris has to take, to see the real side of hard work and integrity. Chris, continued to pursuit a job which will provide him one a good home and ultimately a happiness which can be even for shortest possible time but it will give him happiness. This movie does not show only the hard work of single parent, but it shows that no how hard you get pushed down, you should always get up and keep going.

The image shows the positivity is required even if you are going through hard times and a smile can lighten up your day.

"You are a good papa." Those tender hearted words from Christopher to his father as they spend the night in a homeless shelter poignantly capture the essence of The Pursuit of Happyness. Chris isn't perfect, but one emtional scene after another clearly demonstrate his drive to protect and provide for his son.

Physical affection as hugs and kisses and emotional moments mark their relationship. Chris asked his son to trust him and Chris proves himself as a good father and he is worthy of trust.

Father and son imagine that Dad's bone-density machine is actually a time-travel device that takes them back to the time of the dinosaurs. Christopher gleefully joins in the father's story and stays a night in restroom. Dad holds the door with feet, and tears stream down his face as he watches his innocent son sleep on his lap.

Christopher tells his father a joke about a drowning man who kept praying to god to save him. the man refuses the boats as he says God will help him eventually he drowns then after he ides and asks God why didn't save me, God says i sent you two boats, you dummy.
